Susan grew up with her parents and younger brother Roy, in the bustling market town of Louth, which nestles at the foot of the Lincolnshire Wolds.

Louth is famous for its landmark – St James’ Church, which dates back to the 12th century.  Its breathtaking spire is a major feature in her books.  Susan was educated in Louth, and then attended Eaton Hall Teacher Training College.  It was here that she met her husband Richard, although they were not to marry until some 30 years later…..but that is another story!

Susan taught in a number of nursery and infant schools in and around Grimsby for 27 years, until she left teaching in the year 2000.  She married Richard in 2002 and now they live in the small village of Fotherby near Louth.

It’s always been Susan’s ambition to write a book ever since a school teacher said to her “Susan, if you don’t write a book one day, I shall eat my hat.”  That was over 40 years ago … it just shows that it is never too late  to do the things that you really want to do.
